Huskies and Parents:
This is the first of our weekly e-mail briefings.
Wrestlers of the Week
We took a few lumps on Sunday, but our 15 kids worked hard and learned a
ton. The three Wrestlers of the Week are Nick Kowalczuk, he won a very
tough bracket. Josh Halpin won both of his matches on the way to a gold.
Eric Harris worked his butt off. He picked up a victory in his last match.
Practice Wrestler of the Week
It's always really tough to pick one wrestler as practice wrestler of the
week; so many of the kids worked so hard. This week, Ryan Fish separated
himself from the pack. The high school 103 pound wrestler needed a workout
partner, so Ryan spent the week practicing with the high school. Those
practices are twice as long and 14 times harder than ours. Way to go
Ryan!!!!
Upcoming Events
On Saturday, Dec 13th, we're going to host an informal meet at OPRF
(This event is not on the printed schedule). It will
run from 9:00 until 11:00 am in both wrestling rooms. Parents are welcome
to watch. It's been a real blast in the past. Right now, we've got
Riverside Brookfield coming with about 20 kids and two other clubs have
been invited. This is open to anyone who wants to wrestle!!! Be in the
field house at 8:45 on Saturday.
On Sunday, Dec 14th, we're going to split the squad. Kids with 2+ years
of experience will be at Stagg and the 1st and Second year kids will be at
Downers Grove South. Talk to coach Matt to make sure
you're eligible to wrestle. We'll meet in the field house balcony at 6:30
and carpool there.
On Thursday, Dec 11, The High school will wrestle against Glenbard. That
shouldn't impact our practice at all. We can have a full practice and
still catch most of the meet. The wrestlers may want to stick around and
watch the #1 rated Huskies pursue their second straight conference
championship.

Practice
has begun! If you are interested in registering your child to
participate in the Little Huskies Wrestling Club, you can register at
practice.
Practice days and times (located at the OPRF Field House):
- Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6:00 PM (ages 5-8)
- Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6:30 PM (ages 9 and over)
